Why I Became a Travel Advisor (and what that actually means)
Hi, I’m Kelsie. If we haven’t met yet, I’m the founder of Looped In Co. and a Cruise & Travel Specialist helping people plan intentional, exciting, and stress-free trips. I’m also a Type 3 on the Enneagram, so learning, planning, and diving into the details is kind of my thing. From solo getaways and family vacations to cruise bookings and international relocation support, I help people travel better, and that starts with planning.
My Travel & Hospitality Roots
My love for travel and hospitality started in my hometown of Santa Barbara, California. In 2008, I joined my first hotel team and immediately fell in love with the details, the energy, and the joy that came from helping people make meaningful memories.
Since then, I’ve explored cities across the U.S.—New York, San Francisco, Denver, Charlotte, Portland—and spent time in Central America soaking up the pura vida lifestyle in Costa Rica. Now based in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve continued to grow my work in logistics, destination services, and business support.
And eventually, I found myself right back where I started, helping people plan great travel experiences.
What a Travel Advisor Actually Does
If you’re imagining someone behind a desk with a catalog of pre-built tours, that’s not me.
As a modern travel advisor, I help:
Research and book flights, cruises, accommodations, and activities
Design custom itineraries tailored to your interests and travel style
Navigate complicated logistics like multi-city trips or travel with kids
Connect you with trusted partners and perks you won’t find on your own
Handle the admin side of things so you can stay excited (not overwhelmed)
And yes, I still love a good spreadsheet.
Why I Do This Work
Because it matters. Because I know how powerful travel can be. Because I’ve been the one with 27 tabs open trying to compare flights and read reviews and make it all fit. And because I love helping people go from “Where do I even start?” to “That was the best trip we’ve ever taken.”
Whether you’re planning your honeymoon, your first solo trip, or a family move abroad, I’m here to help make it smoother, simpler, and more exciting.
What’s Next
This blog will be a mix of travel planning tips, destination recs, behind-the-scenes peeks at my own move abroad, and helpful advice for anyone dreaming of their next big trip. While it's mostly here to support travelers and clients, don’t be surprised if I talk about my hobbies, the books I’m reading, an adventure taken with my friends or family, or anything else that’s on my mind. If there’s one thing therapy is teaching me, it’s to get it all out.
I’m so glad you’re here!
xo,
Kelsie
